I stuck one of these on my back gate and my phone buzzed within a second of opening it. The open/close detection is instant, which surprised me for something this small. Now I know every time the dog sitter actually shows up.

The magnet gap is small enough that it still reads closed on my warped garage door, which was my main worry. Now I get a phone alert the second it lifts. Setup took under a minute.

Paired this with the home monitoring kit and the open/close alerts hit my phone within a second or two. The adhesive back holds tight on painted trim, so no screws needed.
